Lutetia Semper is led by an art historian and licensed guide-conférencière based in Paris.
I design private visits for people who prefer attention and conversation to speed and accumulation.
During a visit, I often stop unexpectedly. A form, a colour, or a detail may suddenly call for attention. These pauses are not scripted. I discover things with you, rather than leading you through a fixed sequence. Exploratory looking rarely disappoints, and in a city like Paris, it never really ends.
I pay close attention to what draws your eye. I may ask questions, not to test you, but to understand how you see and what you respond to. The visit unfolds through this shared attention, rather than through a predetermined commentary.
I adapt continuously to the realities of the city. Closures, strikes, blocked streets, or unavailable rooms in a museum are part of Parisian life. When plans need to change, I adjust calmly and confidently, redirecting the visit without losing coherence or depth.
I do not impose an itinerary. I invite you to shape it with me. The visit remains guided, but flexible, and responsive to what emerges along the way.
The pace depends on you and on the chosen itinerary. Some visits are more demanding than others, and they assume that the visitor is making a considered and serious choice. These aspects are always discussed beforehand, so that the experience matches your interests, energy, and expectations.
All visits are private and prepared through dialogue. My role is not to deliver information, but to guide attention, foster curiosity, and make space for looking together.
